這架波音747-400客機，命名為”Ed Force One”，名稱來自於英國傳奇重金屬樂團 Iron Maiden 鐵娘子樂團的標誌性吉祥物 - 殭屍”Eddie”。

2016年，邁入第41年的鐵娘子樂團發行了第16張錄音室專輯，並進行名為《The Book of Souls》全球巡演。”Ed Force One” 載著機組人員、樂團團員和幕後團隊人員，以及重達數十噸的舞台設備與器材，飛到全球六大洲，39個國家，98個城市，演出了117場演唱會，吸引數百萬人次的觀眾親臨現場，參與這一波瘋狂的重金屬音樂盛宴。

This Boeing 747-400 airliner, named "Ed Force One," takes its moniker from "Eddie," the iconic zombie mascot of the legendary British heavy metal band Iron Maiden.

In 2016, marking their 41st year, Iron Maiden released their 16th studio album and embarked on a global tour titled The Book of Souls World Tour. "Ed Force One" carried the flight crew, band members, production team, and dozens of tons of stage equipment across six continents. It flew to 98 cities in 39 countries, delivering 117 shows and drawing millions of fans to experience this wildly ecstatic heavy metal feast.

The livery of "Ed Force One" featured the Iron Maiden band logo and the name of The Book of Souls World Tour. The nose of the aircraft listed all the tour destinations, while the tail wing boasted a massive, striking image of their mascot Eddie's head — it was absolutely bad-ass!

But you know what’s even cooler? The captain of "Ed Force One" was none other than the band's lead vocalist, Bruce Dickinson. Yes, you heard that right! The frontman of this mega-band not only knows how to fly, but he is also a fully certified commercial airline captain for the Boeing 747. He personally piloted "Ed Force One," flying his own band around the globe for the tour!

Iron Maiden 鐵娘子樂團，一個超過五十歲的現象級重金屬樂團

2026年5月26日，星期二，Iron Maiden 鐵娘子樂團在保加利亞的索菲亞市（Sofia）演出。平日晚上，演唱會現場卻湧入了超過三萬名觀眾。

索菲亞只有120多萬人口，僅台北市的一半遠不到，而鐵娘子樂團將之納入巡迴演出的城市之一。事實上，鐵娘子樂團的巡演根本不必考慮該城市的大小。他們只需要一個夠大的體育場，然後演唱會當天樂迷們就會把體育場塞滿。

這場演出僅是鐵娘子樂團這次全球巡演68個城市、91場「體育場等級演唱會」的其中之一。而除了倫敦、巴黎、洛杉磯這種國際級大都會之外，巡演地點的大部分城市，人口都比台北市少。

體育場等級演唱會（stadium-level concert），是指現場觀眾至少3萬人起跳，甚至可以到達10萬人的大型體育場演出，也是音樂產業中演唱會規模、動員能力和製作難度的最高級別。

一個成立超過50年，團員平均年齡70歲的英國老牌重金屬樂團，至今樂壇地位仍屹立不搖，現在還在全球巡演，依舊爆發力十足，場場爆滿，吸引眾多老樂迷和無數「年輕樂迷」入場朝聖、大聲唱和、瘋狂吶喊、用力甩頭、感動流淚的現象，絕大部分其他樂團和藝人難以望其項背。

On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, Iron Maiden performed in Sofia, Bulgaria. Despite being a weeknight, the concert drew a massive crowd of over 30,000 fans.

With a population of just over 1.2 million - less than half that of Taipei - Sofia was chosen as one of the stops on Iron Maiden's world tour. A stadium-level concert refers to a massive venue performance that starts at a minimum of 30,000 attendees and can reach up to 100,000 people. It represents the absolute pinnacle of concert scale, mobilization power, and production complexity in the music industry.

For a legendary British heavy metal band that has been together for over 50 years - with members averaging 70 years old - to maintain an unshakable status in the music world is nothing short of incredible. Today, they are still touring the globe with relentless, explosive energy, selling out stadiums night after night. They continue to draw crowds of die-hard older fans alongside countless "young metalheads" who show up to pay tribute, sing along at the top of their lungs, scream wildly, headbang furiously, and shed tears of emotion. It is a phenomenon that the vast majority of other bands and artists could only dream of achieving.
